About Us

William Penn House is a Quaker seminar and hospitality center on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Since 1966, William Penn House has supported Friends and other advocates for peace and social justice as they come to the nation's capital to learn, vigil, protest and speak to government officials regarding national policies.

Our social justice education programs engage young people with peace and justice issues through hands-on, experiential activities and opportunities to build relationships with activists, community leaders, policy makers, and members of marginalized communities.

Our internship programs give young adults a chance to develop personally, professionally, and spiritually, while living in Quaker community (on-site at William Penn House), connecting with faith-based activists and ministries across DC and nationwide, and supporting all William Penn House programs.
