    Our mission is to empower and engage residents and businesses across MorningSide, East English Village, and Cornerstone Village with the knowledge, skills, resources, and support to revitalize our communities in a sustainable way for future generations.

    About Us

    MECCA Development Corporation is a non-profit organization working to bring residents from three Detroit neighborhoods together through resident engagement. The three communities (south of I-94/Harper and east of Alter Rd. in Detroit) are coming together to create a global vision for the far eastside of Detroit. Since 2016 we have worked to engage residents to understand how to best serve the needs of the community.

    As such, we currently offer a skilled trades program - upholstery workshop - and two weekly senior programs - computer classes and hustle/exercise class. Our 2019 goals are to implement a community engagement model, create a newsletter, expand our skilled trades programming, and purchase and rehab our first residential property.
