About Us

The Mount Washington Community Development Corporation (MWCDC), a 501(c) (3) non-profit founded in 1990, is the only local economic development organization serving the neighborhoods of Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights in the City of Pittsburgh. MWCDC’s mission is “to engage community, promote development and provide opportunity” in our neighborhoods, and MWCDC’s vision is to make Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights “the ideal community for diverse residents, businesses and visitors in Pittsburgh.” Since 1990, MWCDC has addressed a multitude of local neighborhood issues, and current programs are guided by the MWCDC Strategic Plan 2018-2022, the Mount Washington Commercial Business District Improvement Plans (2008 and 2010) and the MWCDC Ten Year Neighborhood Housing Strategy (2010).
