  • Mission

    The Southeastern Railway Museum provides an educational atmosphere that vividly brings to life the cultural, technological and historical importance of transportation to our region. This is accomplished through the preservation, conservation and display of publications, memorabilia and equipment; operation of historic equipment; and the portrayal of the lives of those people who created and provided that transportation.

    About Us

    The Southeastern Railway Museum's 32 acre site is home to over 110 large transportation artifacts from locomotives to taxis. Built by volunteers and now under professional management, the nonprofit offers huge opportunities for volunteers, academic and professional growth. Too many to list, we offer skills and seek skills including but not limited to the following: exhibits, building maintenance, electricians, carpenters, welders, paint and body experts, archivists, educators, docents, ticket sales, grounds maintenance, gardening, train operations. marketing, fundraising, membership, social media, tour development, media relations, construction, concrete, volunteer recruitment & training, public speaking, rental event management & development, board members, community outreach, and more.
