Chicago Pet Rescue

  • Mission

Chicago Pet Rescue is a public benefit 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated entirely to charitable work. We are an all-volunteer–run rescue, sustained solely through donations and fundraising efforts. Every person involved—whether fostering, transporting, or assisting behind the scenes—plays a vital role in saving animals in need.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for homeless animals in our community by providing:

    • Safe, loving foster homes

Animals stay in foster care until they can be adopted into responsible, caring forever families.

    • A comprehensive spay/neuter program

In partnership with local veterinarian, all adult cats and dogs in our care are spayed or neutered before adoption. Puppies and kittens who are too young must be altered by 6 months of age. We offer a low-cost spay/neuter discount that can be used at our participating veterinary clinic to help adopters meet this requirement.

    • Essential medical care

Every animal receives age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and necessary testing to ensure they are on the path to a healthy life.

    • Affordable adoption fees

Our goal is to make adoption accessible while still providing the highest standard of care.

    • Community education

We provide outreach that teaches children, teens, and adults the importance of responsible pet care. We also encourage high school students to volunteer and gain hands-on experience in animal welfare.

Our overall purpose is simple yet powerful: to rescue as many animals as we can safely and responsibly care for, giving each one a chance at a better, brighter future.
