About Us
The IACHR mission is to promote and protect human rights in the American continent, by mandate of the 35 Member States of the Organization of American States (OAS). Through the individual petition system, the monitoring of the human rights situation in the Member States, and the attention to priority thematic areas, the Commission helps States to ensure respect of human rights of all inhabitantes of the Western Hemisphere.
