Mgahinga Community Development Organisation (MCDO)

Mgahinga Community Development Organisation (MCDO) supports community development projects around Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (MGNP) Kisoro district, south western Uganda. Our projects range from providing accommodation to tourists at Amajambere Community Camp and Mutanda Eco Community Centre, students sponsorship programme, community finance, nursery school development to agricultural initiatives.

MCDO has a volunteer programme where skilled people from all over the world come to work with communities on development projects like teaching at public and community primary schools, veterinary support and conservation education.

We also provide assistance to volunteers who wish to have a safari / tour in Uganda such as mountain gorilla tracking, volcanoes hiking and visits to beautiful crater lakes in the region. We work with some tour agencies who provide these services to our volunteers and visitors.
