What Are Old People For? Building a Community For All Ages

  • About Us

What Are Old People For? Building a Community For All Ages is a community engagement project of the Action Plan for Age-Friendly Portland designed to stimulate an intergenerational dialogue and raise public awareness of the social and economic value of older adults as catalysts for transforming Portland into a community for all ages.

The project is designed to challenge and empower community groups, organizations, employers and individuals to deepen their understanding and learning about this question, to foster engagement within and across generations, and then to become an ongoing “Learning Community” to share stories, best practices, and other possible outcomes of the process.
