Sensations TheraFun

  • Mission

Our mission is to provide children with special needs the opportunity to experience a sports-based camp, while supporting their individual rights, encouraging social skills development, ensuring safety, and facilitating fun.

    About Us

The program is designed to start the day with physical activity and group engagement. Campers play a different sport every day for the week. Then campers transition to a time where they can relax and have snack while being encouraged to engage appropriately with their peers. We always encourage our campers to notify their counselors when they feel that they need to self-regulate their sensory input.

Our campers are encouraged to participate in an activity that supports their sensory needs. For example someone may need a quiet environment so that camper can go sit in a lounge swing in our dark sensory room and watch the colorful bubble tower. Or another camper may seek increased proprioceptive and vestibular input. This camper might benefit from playing games on the rock climbing wall, or riding around on a tricycle. Last Summer we had a camper learn how to ride on two wheels.
