American Youth Foundation- Miniwanca
The American Youth Foundation inspires people to discover and develop their personal best, to seek balance in mental, physical, social and spiritual living and to make a positive difference in their communities and in the wider world.
AYF programs, run out of Camp Merrowvista in New Hampshire, and Camp Miniwanca in Michigan, seek to enhance not only a child’s skills, but their confidence in themselves and their future, their character, and their connections to other people. Our outstanding staff work to create communities where youth feel supported and empowered to discover who they are and what they are capable of achieving.
Miniwanca has been leading youth development programs since 1925. Set on 360 wooded acres and a mile of private Lake Michigan shoreline, Miniwanca is as breathtaking as it is fun. Towering sand dunes and pines line our beach; and a second, inland lake provides the perfect setting for swimming, sailing, and canoeing.
With a capacity of almost 1000 participants, Miniwanca maintains a year-round staff of professionals assuring the safety and quality of all our programs. We are accredited by the American Camp Association.
Community and School Programs offer intentionally designed programs to support organizations that work with youth and individuals seeking to participate in an open enrollment program.
Leadership Conferences are aimed at developing character, leadership skills, personal, and group effectiveness and nurturing balance within life.
Summer Camp offers 1-6 week opportunities for campers entering grades 4-12.
