Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles
With a mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and boldⓇ, and a vision of empowered girls in an equitable society, Girls Incorporated has been committed to advancing the rights of girls since 1864.
Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles serves more that 1,200 girls annually, aged 6-18. Most are from single-parent households that fall below the poverty level. All girls in our program are encouraged to reach their highest potential, regardless of their gender, economic status, or social, cultural, or religious backgrounds.
Girls Inc. advocates for social change: from promoting and defending girls' rights and equitable educational opportunities to supporting anti-violence legislation. Girls Inc. is on the forefront of the public and policy debates that affect all girls' lives.
Currently, Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles works in South Los Angeles and Compton. We are focused on delivering the Girls Inc. Experience with the ultimate goal of on time graduation from high school and empowering the girls with the skills and tools to attend and graduate from a 4 year college.
