    The Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association (AIWA) is recognized as the "voice of the waterway" by Congress, industry leaders, and the US Army Corps of Engineers. The mission of the AIWA is to encourage the continuation and further development of waterborne commerce and recreation on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The Association advocates regular dredging and adequate maintenance to promote safe, costeffective navigation. The AIWA has a full time staff that implements the Association members’ work plan to meet the mission.
