About Us

Inspire Medical is a social enterprise seeking to reduce infant mortality through affordable critical-care technologies. Inspire is an independent continuing venture that formed in Entrepreneurial Design for Extreme Affordability, an interdisciplinary course taught at the Hasso-Plattner Institute for Design at Stanford University. Our four founders are a business school graduate, a mechanical engineer, a medical student, and a product designer. Advising us is a pediatrician at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. We have also recruited an electrical engineer to consult on our technical design. Our partner organization is ICDDR,B (International Center for Diarrhoeal Diseases, Bangladesh), a leading research hospital located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Inspire is funded by individuals, family foundations, impact investors, federal grants, and Stanford University.
