    The Community Foundation for Montgomery County is one of two regional affiliates of The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region (CFNCR). CFNCR was established in 1973 to strengthen the Washington metropolitan region by encouraging and supporting effective charitable giving and by providing leadership on critical issues in our community. The Foundation has two affiliates –The Community Foundation for Montgomery County and The Community Foundation for Prince George's County. The Community Foundation for Montgomery County was established in 1996 to encourage giving in Montgomery County, Maryland.
