American YouthWorks of Austin, TX

About Us

American YouthWorks provides young people with opportunities to build careers, strengthen communities, and improve the environment through education, on-the-job training, and service to others.

We offer educational opportunities for young people to earn a GED, college credits and scholarships, and enroll in high school through a partner charter school.  Also, each participant at American YouthWorks is learning to give back through volunteer serviceby restoring green spaces; building and repairing homes for low-income families; and rebuilding communities through disaster relief projects.

American YouthWorks is preparing young people with knowledge and skills to pursue careers in green construction, conservation, computer technology, and emergency management.  We help students overcome challenges to success by providing academic coaching, case management, and free meals.  Also, we help program alumni stay on a successful, long-term pathway by placing them in college, internships, and jobs.

American YouthWorks offers programs for young people, ages 17 to 28 who want to change their lives through education, workforce training and service to their country.  We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is based in Austin, Texas but impacts communities across the south.  Founded in 1981, we have transformed thousands of lives and our community
