Community Office for Resource Efficiency

  • About Us

CORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit accelerating the transformation to a sustainable future through action-oriented solutions to the climate crisis. Since 1994, CORE has used innovation, connectivity and community to tackle climate change. We work with governments, utilities, businesses, other non-profit organizations, and community members in the mountain region of Colorado to create and enact initiatives rooted in sustainability, renewable energy, electrification, environmental stewardship, climate action, and greenhouse gas reduction. CORE is funded through a combination of local government and utility contributions, private and institutional donors, and state and federal grants. As a small nonprofit, CORE remains disciplined to successfully implement organizational strategy, while remaining nimble among changing opportunities and technologies, empowering staff to be effective and efficient in their work.
