THE SIGHT CENTER OF NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA

  • Mission

Our mission is to prevent blindness and to promote independence for those with vision loss.

    About Us

The Sight Center has been in the Erie community for over 80 years. We have many programs that work to fulfill our mission and include our low vision clinic, occupational therapy, and our escorted transportation service just to name a few. We also have a Children's Program that caters to about 10-12 blind and low vision children. Our goal with our children is that they grow into independent adults by showing them that they can do nearly anything their sighted friends can do. One of our growing programs is our Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) which teaches people with prediabetes how to make healthier choices. DPP fits into our mission of preventing blindness because it is the number one cause of both permanent and temporary vision loss.
