GLIDING STARS

  • Mission

Gliding Stars is an adaptive ice skating program for individuals with special needs. This successful program ensures an increase in the skaters muscle strength, fine and gross motor skills, coordination, balance, social skills and an “I can do it” attitude on and off the ice. With the help of the community, this non-profit organization can make a lasting impression with everyone involved at Gilmour Ice Arena from January - April 2020.

    About Us

Volunteers will skate with a skater with special needs once a week for 14-weeks. They will be familiar with adaptive skating equipment and assist their skater during practices at the end of the season show in April. Friendships will develop and flourish as challenges are met and overcome during the season.
