About Us

Christian Legal Aid of Pittsburgh ("CLA") is a nonprofit corporation that operates free legal clinics at local churches where volunteers provide legal counsel, guidance, and prayer regarding civil legal matters to Pittsburgh-area residents whose income is at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines. CLA is part of a national network of local, faith-based legal aid programs through the Christian Legal Society, which has opened over 60 similar legal aid clinics across the country to date.

CLA's mission is to demonstrate Christ's love by promoting accessible justice through the provision of legal counsel, prayer and education to our neighbors in need. CLA is proud of its pro bono program, operating out of two locations in the City of Pittsburgh, which currently utilizes services of more than 40 volunteer attorneys and more than 50 law students who devote many hours to ensuring equal access to justice with respect to our clients. In 2013, CLA recorded more than 300 client visits, with that number expected to increase in the next few years.
