About Us

Mission: The Hip Hop Education Project is a comprehensive community development project that listens to communities and develops solutions to community problems.

We also teach kids in grades 6-12 to be brilliant revolutionaries at our school: The Hip Hop Academy

Programs and Services Offered:

  • Student-led community development skills training and support
  • Adult Education Courses
  • Courses on College Readiness for Students and Families
  • Community development requests (so folks can ask for potholes in their neighborhood or ask us to help them organize for low-cost quality childcare)
  • Academic Tutoring
  • Summer Academies

All in all we complete about 40 community development projects, led by students in both Providence and Oakland per year!
