North Mara Feminists and Education Foundation

Our Organization (a group of Volunteer Feminists), works towards the rights of maltreated and oppressed Young Widows and Teen Mothers. We do this as a reaction on false traditional beliefs in our community whereby this group of people has happened to lose right of possession of the family belongings simply because the husbands/fathers died instate (i.e died without writing a will on who to inherit the family properties such as land etc) and as a result not only orphans do not attend schools, live in abject poverty but even the family which at one time was highly united, finally disintegrate, disjoint, disperse and perish!

MISSION;

Our Mission is to build an organizational capacity to the extent we provide legal aids to our targeted group of people.

OUR SERVICES;

At our unit, we conduct seminars/workshops on the equal rights of every family member even beyond the life time of husbands/fathers.

Accompanying that,

1. We have established and run preschool for the orphans to these widows as well as abandoned kids to Teen Mothers at least to let them access education (one of their basic rights).
2. We provide Sexual education to not only Teen Mothers but also young and adult youth, who are fond of regular hygiene and menstrual challenges,
3. We conduct workshops and seminars to our targeted group of people on opportunities in their daily life to sustain them on how to fight for their daily basic needs and do away with the concept of keeping on begging.
4. As an additional we train our targeted group of people in Information Technology (IT), International languages (French, Spanish, German, English etc), and Vocational Training.
