CreateHere works for economic and cultural development through partnerships, programs and projects, investing resources to unlock the endless potential of Chattanooga’s people.

Our mission is to connect inspired, entrepreneurial doers with a rich network of existing resources. Our goals and projects are driven by one organizational truth: we love our city for what is, has been and could become.

The individuals at CreateHere are committed to works that generate energy and make real investments in our communities. Touching on design and business, on slow food and sustainability, on neighborhood and new vision, CreateHere is engaging the economic and cultural life of Chattanooga through progressive thought and forward motion.

CreateHere was formed in 2007 as an experiment in harnessing the economic potential of creative individuals. After a citywide survey to determine needs and existing resources, the CreateHere team launched four fundamental programs in three months, each targeting a unique facet of Chattanooga’s community of entrepreneurs and residents. Since then, ArtsMove, MakeWork, SpringBoard and LeadHere have cultivated and engaged artists, attracting and retaining some of the city’s brightest creative minds. More than a year later, CreateHere has gained enormous momentum from our successful flagship programs, promoting an umbrella of yet more sustainable, creative initiatives and showcases, including ChattanoogaWorks.

Our workspace on Chattanooga’s burgeoning Southside is a laboratory for creative burbles and hatched plans, as well as a meeting place for a diverse community of creative agents.
