WELCOME HOME OF CHATTANOOGA

  • Mission

Welcome Home of Chattanooga’s mission is to create a community of hope, healing, and compassion for those who are facing a serious illness or death and need safe shelter. We envision a community that works together to provide all people the opportunity to live life fully in the face of serious illness or death through compassionate care, reconciled relationships and restored dignity.

    About Us

Welcome Home of Chattanooga began in 2015 with six friends of diverse backgrounds gathering together in prayer and mindfulness, recognizing a need to serve those who are terminally ill. With encouragement from the community, we were able to turn "we wish" into "we can!" Since then, we have expanded to include our cancer respite program and a Graduate Support system which enables us to help those who have been found permanent housing.

    Welcome Home provides:

    • A growing community of care and shelter. We currently have one 4-bedroom hospice home and two 3-bedroom homes for cancer respite.
    • Warm meals and comfortable living spaces
    • Support through trained staff and volunteers
    • Partnerships with local agencies that provide professional care
    • A place of support and community for those in need
    • Assistance with applying for appropriate benefits for residents
    • Education for students and the community regarding the discussion and care around death and dying
