BCTC ESL English Class for Adults at the Carnegie Center, Downtown Lexington

  • Mission

Our mission at BCTC Operation Read at the Carnegie Center is to provide English as a Second Language classes for non-native English speakers.

    About Us

Because some of our students speak and read fluently, but others need more help, we offer small group classes with four levels (low beginning to advanced) of competency, which meet several times throughout the week. Our class schedule is 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and all are in person at the Carnegie Center. In order to determine the best class for a student, testing of reading skills is required prior to registration.

All instructors and classroom assistants are volunteers. Training and orientation is provided. All volunteers sign an agreement and undergo a background check prior to service.
