  • About Us

The Bridge Project (Bridge) launched in 2021 as one of the nation’s first unconditional cash programs for babies, providing low-income pregnant and parenting people with cash assistance during the first 1,000 days of the baby’s life. Now serving nearly 3,000 participants across New York, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Massachusetts and New Jersey. Bridge’s cash assistance program enables families to improve health outcomes, reduce stress, and build more economically self-sufficient futures. In addition to providing cash assistance, Bridge also offers program participants connections to free or low-cost doula services, breastfeeding support, diaper banks, support navigating gender-based violence, and benefits counseling.

As the nation’s largest unconditional cash program for mothers and babies and the only multi-state initiative of its kind, Bridge has committed $60M to pregnant individuals, launched mixed-methods research studies with 2,000 study participants enrolled, and incubated the sole national coalition advancing sustainable funding models to support direct cash for pregnant and parenting people.
