About Us

Friends of Kafika House (formerly Friends of The Plaster House) is a registered 501(c)(3) in the United States created in 2020 to support the Vision and Mission of Kafika House in Arusha, Tanzania.

Founded in 2008, Kafika House, formerly The Plaster House, provides a safe, loving home away from home for children receiving pre-and post-operative care and rehabilitation for a surgically correctable disability.

Kafika House treats patients with osteofluorosis, burn scar contractures, cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, masses, osteomyelitis, hydrocephalus and spina bifida. Our scope of practice includes patient recruitment through outreach, surgical care at one of our five partner hospitals, and full recuperation and rehabilitation.
