George Mason University - Global Affairs
About Us
The Master of Arts in Global Affairs prepares globally competent professionals to enter today's fast-paced, interconnected world. Using a multidisciplinary approach, coursework highlights both the theoretical and practical aspects of the cultural, political, and economic dynamics of globalization.
The core curriculum explores the nature of globalization, principles of economic development, the human dimensions of global systems and techniques of interdisciplinary research. Students also select a specialization in which they develop knowledge in a thematic field related to their own academic and professional goals. All students in the program take part in a residency abroad, typically two weeks in duration, and complete a capstone seminar.
Graduates enter the workforce or move forward in their already-established international and domestic careers in the public sector, non-governmental organizations, and international business.
