Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs

About Us

GMYC is the performance-based choral music education program for young singers in our region. It is a resilient non-profit organization changing to meet the needs of the community while continuing to provide comprehensive and outstanding children’s choral and singing education to about 100 children from 20 different towns in NH, VT and MA. Tuition Assistance is provided to any family who identifies a need, as we firmly believe that money will not be a barrier between children and excellent singing education.

GMYC was founded in 1997 in Peterborough by Maria Belva and David Vernier. Recognizing the need for GMYC to expand into Keene, I was hired to establish two new choir opportunities in 2015 and 2016. With high enrollment and broad outreach, it was and continues to be evident that singing remains significant, and will always be significant, in the lives of young people.
