Above the Clouds brings joy and hope through the wonder of flight to children and teens who have a serious illness or disability, are underserved, or facing other serious adversity. ATC’s programs provide important relief for kids under tremendous stress and inspire disengaged youth to participate in making their dreams come true. The not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization accomplishes its mission through its four programs: Dream Flyers, Cadet Flyers, Discovery Flyers, and a Dream Flyover Program.
A squadron of volunteer pilots and dedicated volunteers make it all possible. Above the Clouds currently flies out of Norwood Memorial Airport in Norwood, Massachusetts and is looking to expand its chapters nationwide.
ATC is seeking its first outside Executive Director to transition from its founder. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children. A BA/BS degree with five or more years of not-for-profit senior leadership experience, demonstrated professional fundraising success, ability to engage a board, and collaborative leadership and strong communication skills are required. Familiarity with aviation is a plus. The Executive Director is responsible for the full range of activities, from leading operations, programming, and strategic planning, to hands-on work. Critical priorities include working to fundraise, market, community outreach, develop strategic partnerships, recruit, manage, and inspire volunteers and staff to grow the organization.
