Peoples Church Preschool

Peoples Church Preschool is dedicated to nurturing the whole child through meaningful relationships, exploration, and play. We strive to create a joyful, inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to discover the world around them. Through a play-responsive, nature-based approach, we support each child’s growth across social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative domains while fostering curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Peoples Church Preschool is a community-centered early childhood program located in East Lansing, Michigan, serving children from infants to age 6. Rooted in a strong partnership between educators, families, and our church community, we believe that early childhood education should be grounded in connection, wonder, and respect for each child’s unique development.

Our program embraces a nature-based philosophy, integrating outdoor learning into daily experiences. Our nationally recognized Certified Nature Explore Classroom, along with access to nearby parks, trails, and Michigan State University’s campus, allows children to engage regularly with the natural world.

We practice a play-responsive approach to teaching, where educators thoughtfully observe children’s interests and engage alongside them to deepen learning. Teachers guide exploration through meaningful dialogue, reflection, and intentional planning, supporting development in language and literacy, problem-solving, creativity, and social-emotional skills.
