  • Mission

At Rancho Tropical, our mission is to create a living example of sustainable, regenerative living through eco-tourism, conservation, and community-led action in Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. We are developing a vibrant polyculture food forest that supports both people and wildlife, guided by permaculture, self-sufficiency, and ecological balance. Through reforestation and educational tours, we preserve ancestral plant knowledge and reconnect visitors with the richness of the rainforest. As a new and growing project, we welcome volunteers to help build from the ground up — from trail improvement to digital storytelling — as we work toward a future where food, medicine, and community resilience are grown and shared locally. Together, we’re cultivating a space where sustainability is a way of life.

    About Us

Rancho Tropical is a grassroots eco‑tourism and conservation project located in the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica - one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth.

Our new initiative blends environmental education, sustainable living, and eco‑tourism through immersive nature experiences. At the heart of our property lies a network of trails that wind through centenary trees, a medicinal plant garden, freshwater lagoons, and a 40‑meter bridge connecting secondary and primary food forests. This land forms part of a biological corridor linked to Corcovado National Park, making it an ideal place for wildlife observation, botanical study, and cultural exchange.

We recently launched our Medicinal Plant and Remedy Tour, led by a certified naturalist guide, to teach visitors about ancestral uses of plants and sustainable practices rooted in the rainforest. As a new and growing project, we’re now inviting volunteers to help us bring this experience to life.

Volunteers can support us in photography, videography, social media, trail development, content creation, and permaculture work. Rancho Tropical is more than a destination - it’s a living classroom and community rooted in connection, conservation, and creativity.
