About Us

The Media Law Resource Center (MLRC), founded in 1980, is the leading professional association for media organizations and their lawyers. It provides its members with a wide range of resources, including: daily updates on legal, regulatory and legislative developments; numerous publications; legal and policy analysis; litigation practice guides; and national and international media law conferences. MLRC has over 120 media company members. The MLRC Defense Counsel Section includes over 200 law firms which represent media clients.

MLRC publications include the MLRC MediaLawDaily, the monthly MediaLawLetter, the tri-annual MLRC Bulletin and three annual volumes of 50-State Surveys on Libel, Privacy and Employment. MLRC hosts a biennial Medial Law conference in Virginia and a biennial London Conference focusing on international developments. MLRC co-sponsors two annual conferences in California, focused on legal issues in Entertainment and Media and on Digital Media, and an annual conference in Miami on Hispanic Media. Each November, MLRC hosts an annual fundraising dinner for more than 600 participants. MLRC’s numerous Committees and Task Forces meet regularly to discuss and produce resource materials with respect to particular practice areas.
