Habitat for Humanity - Disaster Risk Reduction & Response

  • About Us

Habitat for Humanity will respond to disasters and complex humanitarian emergencies from its core competency in shelter and housing assistance specifically within a framework of long-term recovery and sustainable development.

At a minimum, Habitat will become informed of emergency situations developing worldwide, will categorize the disaster and determine the level of response in accordance with the current protocols, and accordingly will make a decision on the modality and level of involvement. Habitat may respond directly, assume a supportive or advocacy role, or respond through partnerships with other reputable local or international NGOs, consistent with the level of response.
