Cowgirl Spirit Rescue Drill Team

About Us

Since our inception in 2005, Cowgirl Spirit has rescued, rehabbed, retrained, and rehomed over fifty horses who are now living fulfilling lives. We take pride in not only working to heal our rescues' physical afflictions, but their emotional scars as well. We work to raise awareness of equine slaughter in America, by education and rescuing “worthless” or slaughter-bound horses and, with affection, training and dedication, develop their skill and spirit through equestrian drill competition; then place these horses in new adoptive homes to give them long, happy and productive lives as riding companions.

We offer enriching volunteer and internship opportunities to horse lovers. Volunteers and interns receive quality instruction on horsemanship and horse training. Volunteers and interns must be 18 years or older. Previous horse experience is desired, although there are some volunteer opportunities for those without past horse experience.

Join us in saving horses...you might be suprised that this experience might also change YOUR life too!
