Harlem Arts Festival

About Us

The Harlem Arts Festival (HAF)’s mission is to produce an annual multi-disciplinary arts festival in Marcus Garvey Park (MGP), free and open to the public, showcasing local performers and visual artists to inspire and nourish the artist(ic) community in Harlem.

The Harlem Arts Festival will be the first annual festival to incorporate the wide variety of performing and visual arts groups in Harlem on an annual basis in a set venue, the Amphitheatre in Marcus Garvey Park. Our goal is to attract audiences from all over the five boroughs to explore Harlem’s rich history and culture, and to encourage business and new industry to join us in our commitment to Harlem’s future promise.

Taking place over several days in the early summer, 2014, we will invite local performers and visual artists based in the Harlem area. The festival features discussion forums, an open-mic night to attract local talent, activities for children, 2-3 workshops with local companies, and finally, an opening night, and youth and family programming.
