The Markaz

The Markaz is a non-profit cultural organization located in Los Angeles that champions a greater understanding of the Middle East and North Africa and our communities in diaspora by presenting artistic and educational programs that bridge political and religious divides. The Markaz fosters discussions among artists and thinkers and offers classes and workshops that serve diverse ethnic communities.

We explore the contemporary cultural arts and ideas related to diverse Middle Eastern and North African cultures, from Morocco to Afghanistan, including Arab, Iranian, Kurdish, Armenian, Turkish, Sephardic and other majority and minority cultures of the region.
