The Magdalen House (Maggie's)

  • Mission

The mission of The Magdalen House is to help women achieve sobriety and sustain recovery from alcoholism at no cost and based on 12-Step spiritual principles.

    About Us

The Magdalen House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in May 1987 to assist suffering alcoholic women who had no insurance, no money and no hope. It is the only facility in Dallas that offers a non-medical detox at no-cost to the women. The House has 14 beds for clients, who are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis for a 14-day stay. During this time, they are introduced to the tools of recovery through exposure to a 12-step program. Members of Alcoholics Anonymous (a separate entity) bring meetings daily to The Magdalen House, and share AA’s message of recovery with the clients.
