    Coulwood STEM Academy provides a rigorous and relevant educational experience for every child.

    About Us

    Coulwood STEM Academy is a 6th - 8th grade Title I school serving in the West Learning Community of Charlotte, North Carolina. Our student population is comprised of approximately 700 students; 70% of which are African-American, 13% Caucasian, and 13% Hispanic. Five percent of our students are certified as Gifted; 14% qualify for services through the Exceptional Children’s Department, and 4% are certified as Limited English Proficiency.

    The climate at Coulwood is open and inviting. We are continuously striving to establish strong partnerships with businesses and volunteers to help support our academic and extracurricular programs.
