  • Mission

Helping Heroes Heal—One Dog at a Time A Better Colorado Foundation is a veteran-led nonprofit that pairs expertly trained service dogs with Colorado veterans battling PTSD, depression, and isolation. An estimated 17 U.S. veterans die by suicide every day; these canine partners interrupt panic attacks, calm anxious thoughts, and bring the unconditional companionship that saves lives. Our founders—veterans, family members, and allies—know these struggles firsthand. From first application through training and lifelong follow-up, we stand beside every hero we serve. What sets us apart? • Veteran insight shapes every decision. • Community events and fundraisers rally Coloradans behind the mission. • Radical transparency: every dollar fuels dog training, placement, and ongoing care—no red tape, no fluff. Vision: A future where no veteran faces PTSD alone and every hero has the loyal partner and community they deserve.

    About Us

We started in April of 2023 with the goal to provide service dogs for veterans struggling with PTSD. We have thrown 2 galas so far and have our 3rd scheduled for this Oct 2025.

We have raised over $200k for the cause so far and our goal is to raise $1 Million dollars to helps our veterans by the end of 2027. With your help, we know we can achieve that and ensure our local heroes get the help they need!
