About Us
GBCS is a Bennington-based 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to advance the health of the community by helping people meet their basic needs including access to food, shelter, and health care. We do this by operating: the Dr. G. Richard Dundas Bennington Free Clinic, providing medical care for uninsured and underinsured adults; the Kitchen Cupboard, the largest food distribution facility in southern Vermont; the Emergency Needs Fund, offering financial support for those who need help with utilities, shelter, food, and other basic needs; and the Bennington Oral Health Coalition, improving the oral health outcomes through our elementary school-based dental clinic and through education and outreach.
