    The Santa Barbara Foundation is a community foundation established in 1928 to enrich the lives of the people of Santa Barbara County through philanthropy. To achieve this mission, the Foundation will:*Serve as a leader, catalyst, and resource for philanthropy.*Strive for measurable community improvement through strategic funding in such fields as the arts, education, the environment, health, human services, youth and recreation.*Promote partnerships to address important community issues and leverage resources to meet community needs.*Build and prudently manage a growing endowment for the community's present and future needs.*Provide secure, flexible, and effective opportunities for donors to improve their community.
