Focus on Tanzanian Communities
Focus on Tanzanian Communities (FOTZC) raises funds to support education, health care, women’s empowerment, water, and community-based sustainable projects in Tanzania, East Africa. FOTZC partners with Thomson Safaris (a Watertown, MA-based adventure travel company) and local community leaders in Tanzania to provide support for sustainable projects in Tanzania. FOTZC has built dozens of classrooms, teachers’ houses, and student dormitories along with a medical dispensary serving thousands of people. Our Community Conservation Banking program (COCOBA) is providing skills training for women and connecting them with markets for their goods and services. FOTZC is committed to ensuring clean water is accessible in the communities in which we work.
Founded in 1997, FOTZC is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) charity based in Boston. FOTZC is run by a volunteer board of directors which meets regularly. FOTZC raises more than $300,000 annually.
