About Us

As the first in the nation primary state, New Hampshire has long been an epicenter for political and civic engagement. Despite this, our state has never seen long term infrastructure to engage and turnout the youth vote. Young people ages 18-35 are poised to be the largest voting bloc in the history of our country. The youth vote will be vital to the success of progressive candidates up and down the ballot in 2020.

What we are seeing in the field is clear– New Hampshire is teeming with enthusiastic young activists who stepped up to run for office or helped turn out to vote in the 2018 election. Young Granite Staters played a critical role in winning back majorities in the New Hampshire House, Senate, Executive Council and holding the open CD-1 seat.

In 2018, we worked to elect 36 young Democrat candidates to state office, engaged thousands of youth to advocate and shape State House policy and help turn out the vote. The New Hampshire Young Democrats are actively and aggressively developing new branding, communications, organizing bandwidth, candidate development and activist trainings across many groups of young voters from high schoolers and college students to young professionals and young families to engage them in 2019 and beyond.
