  • About Us

The mission of the Pacific Rivers Council (PRC) is to protect and restore rivers, their watersheds, and native aquatic species.

PRC advocates a whole watershed approach to land management. PRC's strategy, “first protect the best, then restore the rest,” emphasizes the importance of the remaining aquatic refuges, or strongholds, in the overall health of aquatic systems. PRC has provided strategic leadership and technical guidance on aquatic resource issues to agencies and conservation colleagues. PRC's work in aquatic ecosystem-based protection and restoration is based on the development and promotion of sound ecosystem science.
