  • About Us

Founded in 1955, Mental Health America of Greenville County (MHAGC) positively impacts mental health through advocacy, awareness, and service. MHAGC provides services- including its 24/7 CRISISline-to residents in counties throughout the upstate.

MHAGC is one of the more than 320 non-governmental and non-profit affiliates of Mental Health America (formally known as the National Mental Health Association). Together, we represent a growing movement of Americans who promote mental wellness for the health and well-being of the nation - everyday and in times of crisis.

Much of MHAGC's work is guided by the Before Stage 4 (#B4Stage4) philosophy - that mental health conditions should be treated long before they reach the most critical points in the disease process. When we think of diseases like cancer or heart disease, we don't wait years to treat them. We start before Stage 4; we begin with prevention, identify symptoms, and develop a plan of action to reverse and hopefully stop the progression of the disease.
MHAGC is proud to be a community partner of United Way of Greenville County.
