InterVarsity Washington DC Urban Program

About Us

The Washington DC Urban Internship, “Bridge DC” has been developing young adult college-aged leaders since 2008.  This unique, intensive residential summer program gives students a realistic taste of incarnational urban ministry and Community development work.

This year’s 2017 program runs from June 15th-August 3rd and includes a service internship, living with other students and time in bible study/field trips.

Internship opportunities include Casa Chirilagua (immigrant kids), Little Lights (kids in DC public housing), Christ House (health care for the homeless), Grid alternatives engineering firm doing solar panels, working with Korean shop owners on conflict resolution in black neighborhoods,Christian community development association, and a DC Hope VI community center working with affordable housing.

To participate, the young adult must be currently in college or graduated in 2017, be able to commit for the entirety of the 24/7 program and fundraise $2,500 to cover program costs like housing and food.  We provide fundraising training and fundraise as a team which helps students with smaller networks reach the total.  We prioritize rising juniors and seniors committed to leading in Christian ministry and social justice circles on their campuses.
