MOTHER TERESA CANCER AWARENESS FUND

BROADALBIN, NY
|

  • Mission

The Mother Teresa Cancer Awareness Fund assists those in the Capital District of New York who have cancer with their out of pocket expenses.

    About Us

The Mother Teresa Cancer Awareness Fund was created when Capital Region residents, Joyce and Hank Maddalone, parents of 14 children of Glenville, N.Y. were going through the stressors that accompany cancer.

Joyce was diagnosed in 2012 with a rare cancer called Sex Cord-Stromal Tumor, a form of Uterine cancer. In 2018, Hank, her husband of 55 years was also diagnosed with cancer (in April 2019 Hank lost his battle to Liver cancer).

They do not want others in their community with cancer to have to worry about unexpected costs due to their treatment and have asked that a fund be created to help alleviate those worries. The Mother Teresa Cancer Awareness Fund was formed to fulfill their wish.
