American Indian Health and Family Services of Southeastern Michigan, Inc.

Minobinmaadziwin American Indian Health & Family Services of Southeastern Michigan (AIHFS) Inc., is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing comprehensive health care to the Native American community of Southeastern Michigan. In the Anishinaabe language AIHFS is referred to as Minobinmaadziwin, which means “a good life”. The vision of wellness at Minobinmaadziwin grew out of a need for healing in the Native American community. Native people have suffered cultural deterioration, countless health crisis’, and environmental contamination. Our staff is dedicated to the physical, emotional, cultural, environmental, and spiritual health of the Native American community. We utilize the resources of our Healing Center by combining Western medical practice with traditional healing to encourage overall wellness among the people.
