Our mission is to educate, enrich, entertain, and provide the residents and children of Bellflower and the Fourth District of Los Angeles County with performances of varied symphonic and orchestral music.
Founded in 1968 with the support of the Bellflower Cultural Arts Council, the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra has been a cornerstone of musical life in Bellflower and surrounding communities for more than five decades. Originally led by founding conductor Géza Szabó and later revitalized under Joseph R. Taylor, the Symphony has long championed music education and performance opportunities for musicians of all ages. Today, under the direction of conductor Heriberto Ramos, the organization continues its tradition of artistic excellence and community engagement through symphonic concerts, opera programs, and its signature Young Artist Concerto Competition, which provides young musicians the rare opportunity to perform as soloists with a full orchestra. Annual performances include summer outdoor concerts, fall symphonic programs, and a winter “Night at the Opera.”
