Oakland Firesafe Council

  • About Us

Established in 2014, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Oakland Firesafe Council works to reduce the risks of wildfire and other disasters in Oakland and areas of Alameda County.

Our focus is education and outreach, primarily through our Community Preparedness program that focuses not only on wildfires but on other potential local disasters such as earthquake and flood. We promote state-of-the-art approaches to wildfire prevention and advocate for more resources to assist with vegetation management, emergency evacuation, restoration and other prevention related issues at the local, regional, state and national level.
